Great volunteer teaching opportunity for any bilingual (Spanish-English) USC students in the Spanish Department. Bryan Cullison from World Impact is developing an off-shoot of the I HABLO U adult dual language immersion program, and he is currently looking for an English Teacher and a Spanish Teacher. Here are the details:
Volunteer Teachers Wanted
- We are interested in finding two bilingual teachers who would be willing to volunteer two hours a week in facilitating classes where Spanish-language learners and English-language learners gather for both conversation and interaction with one another for one hour, with the second hour being more directed language learning time separated by language.
Course Overview and Goals
- This course is designed to provide monolingual students with the basic fundamentals of a second language (English/Spanish). It will focus on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Furthermore, the course will increase students awareness of Hispanic/American cultures. Lessons will be conducted entirely in English/Spanish (alternating) in order to fully immerse students.
